Hidden Histories, Hidden Historians is Manchester Histories’ new Heritage Lottery Fund supported project that aims to work with communities across Greater Manchester building networks, sharing skills, exploring new ways for people to engage with and celebrate the less familiar histories and heritage, and creating new resources to build capacity within the sector.
The successful candidate will be a critical part of the team, joining Manchester Histories’ Chief Executive as the only other non-freelance member of staff, and starting at an exciting time for the charity as take on an increasing role in the development and advocacy for histories and heritage.
The Role will include being the first point of contact for community groups and individuals, as well as providing focused support to six new groups throughout the period of the project working with them to explore their own local histories and identify new sustainable models of working. The Manchester Histories Festival is one of the main delivery elements of the charity, and the community engagement manager will also be responsible for increasing engagement with diverse communities as both participants and audiences.
