Salary: £22,937 – £27,123

Wigan Archives Service are recruiting a lead officer for their “Made in Greater Manchester Project”
The lead officer will be required to ensure that the Council achieves it’s Vision of ‘Confident Place – Confident People’ through deployment of the three key behaviours: “Be Postive, Be Accountable, Be Courageous”
They will also be responsible for the delivery of the ‘Made In Greater Manchester Project’, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, on behalf of the Greater Manchester Archives & Local Studies Partnership. They will prioritise and take accountability for their own workload within the confines of the role profile, and manage their own performance levels actively highlighting areas of concerns that might reduce optimum performance. The lead officer will carry out day to day functions within regulatory, legislative and policy framework and with an understanding and appreciation of service wide priorities and considerations.
The successful candidate must have demonstrable experience of working in archives and local studies, experience of facilitating the day to day organisation of volunteers and trainees, experience of assisting with effective budget management, experience of effectively developing promotional materials for archives, and demonstrable experience of working in archives and local studies.
