Eden Rivers Trust are inviting expressions of interest from artists or artist collectives to work on projects in Carlisle and Appleby as part of their Cherish Eden project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The commissions offer an opportunity for an artist (or artist collective) to design, develop and deliver a creative project for one of two Cumbrian communities affected by the flooding in winter 2015.
In each project, the artist will work collaboratively with the local community to develop a temporary Art Trail along the rivers in the respective areas. It will involve the artist delivering a number of workshops that result in the creation of a high-quality Art Trail.
The aim of the overall project is to encourage people to explore their local river environment through creativity and the arts, to share and express their ideas and experiences of the river.
There are two commissions are on offer:
- Commission 1 – Appleby: £5,000
- Commission 2 – Carlisle: £9,000
For further information please see here.
The deadline for expressions of interest is 12 noon, Thursday 28 April 2016
