Salary: £33,075 – £36,750
Permanent Full Time Contract
Closing date: 27 April 2016
Do you have a passion for interpreting heritage buildings and collections, and for their promotion and development? If so, then the Methodist Church would like to hear from you.
The Methodist Church is looking to appoint a Heritage Officer with a record of achievement in heritage-related work. The role will include, supporting and encouraging the teams in The Methodist Church’s four accredited museums; promoting more than 120 places of historic importance; liaising with those who host their archives, including two internationally-significant collections, to develop awareness, access and scholarship; and support local churches seeking to use their heritage to engage with their local communities.
The heritage officer will work with more than 700 volunteers and a small number of employees, throughout the Church, and with ecumenical and other partners. They will engage with expert volunteers on the Methodist Heritage Committee and work as part of a small central Engagement team, including Fundraising and Marketing.
This is a challenging, rewarding and varied role, with extensive UK travel.
