Assistant Curator (Collections)
Salary: £16,647
Full Time Temp orary Contract (For 1 year from Monday 29 August 2016 to cover a maternity leave)

Working as part of the Curatorial and Learning Team, the Assistant Curator (Collections) will be responsible for the day to day collections management of the Wordsworth Trust’s Designated collection. The post-holder will provide high quality collections management for the 65,000 books, manuscripts and works of art that we hold. As well as managing the collection, the post-holder will provide a Reading Room service, and oversee the museum’s Community Gallery exhibition programme.  They will be responsible for the mentoring and development of Trainees and volunteers.

This is an exciting time to join the Wordsworth Trust. The Assistant Curator (Collections) will contribute to the ‘Re-imagining Wordsworth’ project, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. This transformational project will see a redevelopment of the Trust’s site and a new range of learning activities, and will reach its climax in 2020 to celebrate Wordsworth’s 250th birthday.

Education Development Manager
Salary: £26,273
Full Time Temporary Contract (Monday 22 August 2016 to late May 2017 to cover a maternity leave)

Working as part of the Curatorial and Learning Team, the post of Education Development Manager offers an opportunity to make a major impact on behalf of one of the country’s leading literary museums, on the young people of Cumbria, Great Britain and across the world – and their families. Building on the transformation seen as a result of the Trust’s 2012-15 Major Partner Museum grant, the Wordsworth Trust’s award-winning formal and family learning offer has the potential for even greater impact.

The post-holder will lead a team to further develop and deliver a strategy for formal and family learning based on the life and writing of William and Dorothy Wordsworth, Dove Cottage and the Trust’s Designated collection.
