Mentoring: The Next Creative Generation
Artswork is set to host their one-day course Mentoring: the next creative generation, on 6 October 2016 at HOME, Manchester.
Mentoring young creatives (both formally and informally) is vital to the sector’s work with young people. Excellent mentoring enhances skills through supportive relationships, encourages space for self-directed learning and helps shape behaviours which in turn encourage growth and development in others.
Following a successful three-year programme (Stepping Up: Young Leaders Training), Artswork, Oxfordshire Youth Arts Partnership Trust (OYAP) and Oxford Brookes University have teamed up to deliver this course. Exploring the principles of mentoring, you will be equipped with the tools to support the next generation of creative practitioners and leaders.
This course is ideal for people who are looking for practical ways to develop and nurture the skills, knowledge and experience of emerging creatives in the early stages of their careers.
Delegates will gain a practical framework for best practice mentoring, knowledge about the principles which shape great mentoring, personalised mentoring advice, tips on how to plan and evaluate a mentee’s development, and practical mentoring techniques.
This course is priced at £130 which includes lunch, refreshments and certification of attendance.
