The Nimrud Ivories: Storage Skills Sharing Day

The British Museum are hosting a skills sharing day which will introduce participants to the practical aspects of a collections care pilot storage project to assess, document and pack for storage the 6000 ivories that make up the Nimrud Ivory collection.

This event, which will take place on Tuesday 6 December at The British Museum,  is for people working and volunteering within the museum and heritage sector who would like to develop a knowledge and understanding of the collections care processes and procedures involved in successfully undertaking an ivory storage project.

By the end of the day participants will understand the principles of good ivory object storage, as well as have an awareness of the various materials available for ivory storage, and will have had practical experience creating effective storage solutions for ivory objects.
