Lakeland Arts is one of the most significant arts and heritage organisations in the North and has an exceptional portfolio of attractions in an area of outstanding natural beauty and a unique opportunity has arisen to provide development and fundraising support on a freelance or employed basis. We would like to hear from you if you believe you are the right person to deliver this role. You will be based at Blackwell in Bowness or Abbot Hall in Kendal and you will report to the Chief Executive. The hours and length of the contract and working arrangements are flexible for the right person, however we envisage it would be a minimum of 6 months activity. This is what we are looking for you to deliver:
- To identify and develop appropriate funding applications to support the exhibition, artistic and learning and community programmes alongside capital projects for Lakeland Arts
- To nurture Lakeland Arts’ existing major donors, Patrons and Benefactors and help to develop relationships with new ones through research, data collection and development
- To deliver the Friends membership scheme, including identifying and recruiting new members and developing the scheme as Lakeland Arts expands with the opening of Windermere Jetty.
To undertake this role we would expect you to have a strong track record of researching and developing successful funding applications to various organisations. You will work closely with senior staff at Lakeland Arts in developing funding plans and applications.
You will be used to networking at different levels and have excellent administration and communication skills.
