Lancashire’s Museum Service is looking for a new colleague for its busiest museum. Based in the heart of Lancaster, the Museum Manager leads a team of staff providing a comprehensive museum offer to its visitors. The new Museum Manager will look to broaden the visitor base, find new ways of reaching audiences and seek new partnerships.
Supported by talented colleagues in the central services teams – Heritage Learning Team, Lancashire Conservation Studios, Collections Team, Technical and Design – the Museum Manager works in partnership with the King’s Own Royal Regiment Museum housed within Lancaster City Museum.
Lancaster is one of England’s Heritage Cities. The Museum Manager links into a group of professionals working hard in the field of heritage and the arts to raise awareness of the city’s rich history and its potential to inspire and delight people of all ages.
The Museum Manager’s team also covers the tiny 18th century Cottage Museum nestled opposite Lancaster Castle. The contrast of scale could not be more spectacular.
