Access in Museums: Strategies for welcoming visitors and students with ASD

Access in Mind will be delivering a one day workshop looking at strategies to improving access to setting facilities and activities for people with ASD, ADHD and sensory processing difficulties. This training day will include recognising characteristics, understanding the effect of the environment on sensory processing and managing challenging behaviour.
Claire Jackson and Juanita Lendon from Access in Mind are qualified teachers, with more than 20 years experience each, of supporting young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). They will be providing their expertise to help you make your museums more accessible to visitors with ASD, ADHD and sensory processing difficulties.
Due to the support of Museum Development East Midlands this event is free for both GEM members and non-members. Priority booking will be given to those from Accredited museums or working towards Accreditation.
