Schools Creative Engagement Practitioner
£10,000 fee (+ VAT), based on approximately 50 days’ work.

Freelance position with the University of Salford and Salford Museum and Art Gallery

The National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP) aims to support the most disadvantaged young people in England to progress into higher education (HE). The University of Salford, working with Salford Museum and Art Gallery, are piloting an outreach project specifically to encourage access to arts subjects, as part of the Greater Manchester Higher Consortium.

Salford are looking for a confident and resourceful freelance creative practitioner to lead the pilot project. You should ideally have 3 years’ experience of developing and delivering practical arts activities with young people aged 14-17, and a sound knowledge of arts programmes in museums, galleries, or libraries in the North West.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a valid DBS clearance.

Heritage Facilitator
£17,072 (pro-rata)
12 hours (Tuesday and Wednesday 9.15am-3.45pm)

There is an opportunity to join the Front of House Team at Salford Museum & Art Gallery. Duties include:

  • Taking an active role in delivering learning sessions for schools, families and community groups
  • Holiday activities for children and families
  • Leading group tours

Reception and Admin Support Officer
£15,613 – £16,781 (pro-rata)
18 hours (Monday, Tuesday and Friday – 10.00am-4.30pm)
Closing date 15th August

This is a new post combining the role of reception duties and administration support. Salford are looking for somebody who has good customer engagement skills, has good attention to detail and a high level of IT skills.

The job involves answering and progressing enquiries from visitors, assisting with the promotion of the service, and a wide range of clerical work.

Duties include:

  • Administrative support for specific projects
  • Cashing up, banking, managing cash floats and ordering change
  • Updating and maintaining online services, including social media
  • Maintaining and updating mailing lists
  • Processing RSVP’s for exhibitions and events
  • Assisting with all aspects of merchandising
