Connecting, Sharing, Learning: digital outreach with older communities
Thu, 30 September 2021, 14:00 – 15:00 – via Zoom
by Imperial War Museums:
Between July 2020 and June 2021, Imperial War Museum’s War and Conflict Subject Specialist Network (WCSSN) led a project called Connecting, sharing, learning: sustaining relationships between collections and older communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. The project was kindly supported by The Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund, delivered by the Museums Association.
Together with 25 partners, most of whom are WCSSN members, we created activity packs and facilitated Zoom sessions to showcase our collections on the topics of the Second World War and Women, War and Peace. In this presentation, we will share some of the successes and challenges of the project, which reached more than 600 people aged 70 and above across the UK, both in their own homes and in care settings. There will also be an opportunity for audience questions.
